Subject: Robot shipping for Oklahoma teams going to Dallas Regional

Dear Dallas bound teams:

With the changes in the FedEx free shipping rules, if you qualify for the Atlanta Championship in OKC you will not receive an additional FedEx label as had been the case in previous years. You only get a new label in Atlanta (for returning your crate home).

Below are my shipping scenarios pertaining to attending 2 regionals:

Scenario #3: Attending 2 regional’s (non championship qualifying) --- Team would have to arrange for shipping to OKC Regional. Team would use 1st shipping label to 2nd regional and 2nd label home from 2nd regional.

Scenario #4: Attending 2 regional’s (non championship qualifying) --- Team would use 1st shipping label to OKC regional. Team would have to pay Sheppard Exposition Services (required carrier) for shipping from regional 1 to regional 2 Team would use their 2nd FedEx label to ship home from 2nd regional.

Scenario #5: Attending 2 regional’s (championship qualifier) --- Team would use 1st shipping label to OKC regional. Team qualifies for championship at OKC Regional.. Team would have to pay Sheppard Exposition Services (required carrier) for shipping from regional 1 to regional 2 Team uses their 2nd label to ship to Atlanta, then, FedEx pay for robot to come home.

Scenario #6: Attending 2 regional’s (championship qualifying 2nd regional) --- Team would have to arrange for shipping to OKC Regional. Team would use 1st FedEx shipping labels to 2nd regional. At 2nd regional team qualifies for championship. Team uses their 2nd FedEx label to ship to Atlanta. In Atlanta, they would then have to go to the drayage table, and would then be given an additional free FedEx shipping label. The team would use this new label to ship home.

Also, attached are the rules relating to using a non-fedEx shipper.

In addition, I have attached the service center information that Sheppard’s uses as the OKC Regional drayage terminal (all robot crates are delivered to this UPS warehouse (service Center).

If you plan on driving your crate there send me an email and I’ll send you photos of the site. Remember you need a dated receipt from them that you then mail to FIRST HQ.

Remember Sheppard requires all teams to fill out and fax the Sheppard payment authorization form (page 5) of the 2009_OK_Shipping pdf. This form will only be used by them if your robot is overweight but it must be on file before shipping date.

Don’t forget to add the required shipping labels.

See you soon,
